Hiroshi Komazawa was born in Tsuruoka, Yamagata prefecture, in 1951. After dropping out of the Faculty of Law at Chuo University he trained under Takato Omiya in Mashiko and Kimura Ichiyo in Bizen.  In 1982 he went on to Kasama, Ibaraki prefecture to make ceramics. He is currently based in Akasaka pursuing avant-garde modeling.
