JOHN-PAUL PHILIPPE

FLORES del MAR

ON VIEW OCTOBER 8th - ONGOING

FLORES del MAR highlights contemporary artist John-Paul Philippe's most recent works, many on view for the first time, which reference the biomorphic forms of modernism.

The imagery alludes to tidal pools, water drying on cement, suds, puddles, and the markings on orca whales. The paintings are built and layered on hessian and sometimes burlap, achieving a primitive yet refined quality.
